The program cost is $4500; $3900 (a $600 discount) if paid in full at the outset. Some tuition assistance and payment plans are available. We aspire to make it financially workable for those who are strongly committed to doing the program. The food and lodging costs for the residential retreats will be paid separately averaging $75-$175 nightly depending on the lodging (camping, dorm, single, double) that is selected. We require a minimum of 15 participants.
Seminar 1: Introducing Mindfulness into our Work Life with Susan Chapman and Terry Jaworski
Thursday, March 15 (6:30 pm registration; 7:00 pm start)– Sunday, March 18, 2018 (4:00 pm departure), Shambhala Center of Seattle
Four days on mindfulness. Participants learn how to seat mindfulness awareness practice into their working life and introduce contemplative discipline into their work with others. Introductory meditation instruction is the take home of this program.
Seminar 2: Introducing Body Speech and Mind Practice into our Work Life with Sandra Ladley
Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27, 2018, Friday 7 pm through Sunday 3 pm, Shambhala Center of Seattle
Participants learn how to teach Body, Speech and Mind group and the dynamics of facilitation with the end result being the ability to offer the form in multiple settings. Participants practice introducing BSM practice into their specific desired settings.
Seminar 3: Deepening Week – Speaking from the Heart Group Facilitation with Melissa Moore
Monday, July 30 — Sunday, August 5, 2018, Whidbey Institute, Whidbey Island
Participants learn how to facilitate Speaking from the Heart Groups and do contemplative group work. The retreat will include Maitri Space Awareness practice where participants will choose one or two Buddha families to intensify during the week.
Seminar 4: Compassionate Exchange and Self Care with Terry Jaworski
Friday, December 14 – Sunday, December 16, 2018, Shambhala Center of Seattle
This weekend is specifically dedicated to the art of self-care when working with others, and to the practice of maitri toward oneself specifically and the impact of that when offering ourselves to others.
Seminar 5: Graduation — All Faculty available
Thursday, February 21, – Sunday, February 24, 2019, Thursday 7 pm through Sunday 3 pm, Seattle Shambhala Center
Participants give a half hour presentation on their practicum to the whole group and the group celebrates the completion of graduate training and what has been learned and accomplished together.
It is acceptable to miss one seminar and receive certification.
